The Truth Natural Skin Care - What You need to Know!
Mankind has for many thousands of years used some kind of skin care regime but it is only in recent times he has had the luxury to choose between natural skin care using herbal products or those devised synthetically by man. This is the reason skin care has transformed in a big way and herbal skin care routines have been replaced by synthetic or chemical based skin care routines. Today probably only a fraction of the herbal formulas still exist and many people have never even used a natural product.
Perhaps it is our fast paced lives and the ease with which we can purchase just about any synthetically produced item that has helped with the decrease in using natural preparations.
The problem becomes worse when you realize the commercialism involved with the manufacture of herbal products by large companies that have to add preservatives to make them last longer which obviously reduces their effectiveness.
Growing numbers of people are going back to the old ways and using herbal products made in small batches by tiny companies that specialize in using the old techniques. The increase of commercially available herbal products is not likely to lose to much ground though to these small independent companies but do you know what sort of products I am referring to?
Although one of the more common herbal products, aloe vera has other properties other than just helping sunburn; extracted fro the aloe plant it also hydrates skin and can be sued on cuts as well. Herbs like dandelion, chamomile, lime flowers and rosemary are often used with other herbs like tea and are used as herbal cleansers.
Antiseptics are another important part of Herbal skin care and the likes of lavender, marigold, thyme and fennel are good examples of herbs that are known to possess antiseptic properties (lavender water and rose water also form good toners).
A favorite drink with many people around the world, tea can also have extracts made into a formulation that helps treat skin that has received an excess of UV radiation.
You may also be familiar with herbal oil extracts like tea tree, primrose and lavender which are the most popular and used for a variety of reasons.
Some fruit oils like extracts from fruits like banana, apple and melon, find use in shower gels as a hydrating mix but natural skin care is good not only for the routine nourishing of skin but also for treatment of skin disorders like eczema and psoriasis.
Although it is not something that is mentioned very often but herbal skin care products rarely have any adverse effects on the user and as you can produce them at home, they are very attractive to people trying to avoid anything synthetic.
So, herbal skin care is the way to go but this does not mean that you totally discard the synthetic products and you should accept the fact that some skin orders might need usage of clinically proven non-herbal skin care products.
Finally, never disregard the importance of natural skin care and maintenance products because the skin has an important job to do and needs assistance itself sometimes.
